Delightful and Delicious

I am issuing the challenge at Let's Scrap this week, see below for the details and why not play along for an opportunity to winner a prize.
My challenge this week is all about FOOD.
We all need to eat; in fact lots of us love to eat.  We may not like to cook or we may not even be good cooks.
In some families there is a special dish, cookie, cake or meal that may have become a tradition. Families, also, gather together for special holiday meals that have become traditions.
My challenge to you is to create a single or double page layout (no cards) of that special food or meal. I have included a recipe on my sample layout; you don’t have to do that.
On your layout you must use the following:
~Some stitching (machine, hand, or even rub-on stitching)
~At least 1 handmade tag
~Journaling
You must use a Let’s Scrap sketch.
This challenge cannot be combined with the weekly main page sketch, special month long site sponsored sketch or the Scrap our Stash Challenge. The layout must be something you scrapped new for this challenge, not something you previously made.
To be eligible for the prize drawing, upload your entry for this challenge to the gallery by Thursday, February 10th at 11:59pm (using the clock on the main page).
Be sure to tag your entry correctly: challenge128 (all one word), followed by a comma, a space, and then the sketch number you used. In my sample layout the tag would read: challenge128, 10-18-09.
In the comment section of your post explain how you met the requirements of the challenge. Sometimes the elements of a layout are hard to see in the photos.
If you also use a technique from one of the tutorials, you will get your name in the draw a second time.
I can’t wait to see what you create. Thanks for taking my challenge.
Here is my sample of the FOOD challenge.

“Delightful & Delicious”

Used: Bazzill cs (Carob, String of Pearls & Iced Cocoa), Kaiser Scrapbooks pp “Cafe Culture” line, Dazzles kitchen stickers, Prima flowers and various scraps.

I made my DS happy because I had to bake a batch of these cookies just so I could take a picture of them for my layout; I had not baked them in a long time. LOL

Wednesday 25 January 2012

Hello Everyone,
For some of you, this will just be information 'overload', but for other less active of my friends this just might be news--and a wonderful time to get reacquainted with your scrap table.
As one of the 50 international host blogs. I am gearing up now for the upcoming Let's Scrap "Leap Around the World" February blog hop! This fun event will start at 10:00am on February 1 and end on February 29th at 11:59pm according to the main page clock on the Let's Scrap website (your clock may vary, so check the time difference).
I would love it if you joined me in this blog hop! There are several things you can do right now to be prepared:
-Make sure you are signed up as a follower on my blog. Once on my blog, just look in the right column for the Let's Scrap blinkie and click on it to be directed to Let's Scrap and sign up as a member there.
-Find all the scraps of paper you have been setting aside for the last five years. You will need them because the blog hop is all about making CARDS!
Ok, a few more details. You did read read correctly: there are 50 blog hosts! Once you have joined Let's Scrap, at each blog, you will get two chances to win some blog candy (aka: booty, prizes)! Do the math! You will have 100 chances to win free stuff..and good stuff, too! this is also the perfect opportunity to restock your card stash! The first chance comes when you join/follow each blog and leave a comment. The second chance comes when you use the card sketch on each blog to create a card, layout or other project based upon the card sketch appearing on each blog--they are all different! You then must post your creation in the Let's Scrap gallery, then go back to each blog and leave a second comment linking back to your gallery post. don't be overwhelmed..you are doing one card at a time! Our hope is that you will visit every blog, and remember you have the whole month of February to do this.
P.S. A few folks are experiencing some difficulty leaving comments on some blogs, so, to be sure you are able to do so without difficulty, be sure you are using Google Chrome or Firefox as your search engine. Internet Explorer does not always 'play nice' with bloggers.
Looking forward to seeing you at the blog hop!

Challenge 126 at Let's Scrap

Over at Let's Scrap one of my fellow Design Team members, Jeaunes Vilijoen, has issued a challenge:
This is the receipe for the challenge
  • ONLY One picture;
  • 7 different sheets of paper;
  • The paper HAS TO BE pattern paper (no cardstock) and from a range that you have NEVER USED BEFORE
  • The layout has to have a title which is already included in the paper, as well as a subtitle (I did mine with a rub-on);
  • When it comes to embellishing:
    • Some ribbon;
    • 3 Flowers;
    • 3 Brads (the three flowers at the top of the layout are brads);
    • One metal embellishment and
    • A button
And this is my take on the challenge.
